Environmental Education

DEQ’s Environmental Education Program is responsible for the development of educational programs and materials. The program is tasked with disseminating environmental education resources throughout the state and training educations on how to implement those resources into their classrooms.

Oklahoma’s diverse eco-regions offer many opportunities for people to connect with nature. It is DEQ's belief that building a relationship with nature early in life fosters a lifetime appreciation for the environment and leads children to be better stewards of our natural resources and take personal responsibility for the care of our environment.
Resources include:

  • Educational Publications
  • Grant Opportunities
  • Teacher Workshops
  • Classroom Presentations
  • Community Events
  • Annual Trash Poster Contest
  • Oklahoma Green Schools Program

The DEQ Environmental Education Program is committed to educate all Oklahomans about the environment, their place in it, and what they can do to protect it.
All education inquiries should be sent to the Education Programs & Services Coordinator.
